Wheatland Place is Lancaster's premier office
building and event facility. Located on the corner of Wheatland
and Race Avenues, Wheatland Place boasts 60,000 square feet of
office space and the breathtaking 2500 square foot Hamilton Ballroom.
Wheatland
Place is the home of watch engineering history, as it is the
source of Hamilton Watch Company's excellence in watch
making technology and design. The Research and Engineering
Laboratory gave tours of their new five-story facility during
their grand
opening in April of 1950, with a celebration following in their
on-site ballroom. The building soon led Hamilton to success
with the inventions of the first electric watch in 1958 and the
first
digital watch in 1972.
Morgan Court Partners, owner
of Wheatland Place, hopes that the tenants relive the building's
historical
success. Before
opening
the doors to the new business occupants, Morgan Court Partners
strive to provide an efficient and pleasant atmosphere for
local businesses. The building is currently seventy percent
occupied
with local businesses, such as the Hamilton Ballroom; MRI
Group; Rohrerstown Diagnostic Imaging; Geisenberger, Cooper & Lanza,
PC; Sigma, LLC; Boyd Senior Planning; David R. Campbell & Associates,
LLC; and Wallover Architects.
Barry Baldwin is the owner of
Morgan Court Partners, BJ Baldwin Electric, Inc, and Baldwin
Mechanical and Construction. Since
purchasing the property in June 2003, Mr. Baldwin upheld
the building's historical integrity while modernizing the
appearance
with new windows and doors. Wheatland Place received major
improvements, such as upgraded mechanical systems, a new
passenger elevator
and a new roof. With Mr. Baldwin's experience and knowledge
in the electrical, mechanical, and construction fields,
Wheatland Place has a historic presence with the same amenities
of
a newly
constructed building.
